President Donald Trump started the process of withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organisation for the second time in less than five years using one of the many executive actions he issued on his first day back in the White House. Many scientists are concerned that this move could undo decades of progress made in the fight against infectious diseases like AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis.
