“Aaj khushi hai isiliye to cycle chala rhe hai pitaji ke aane pai. Pitaji ke aane se cycle chala rhe hai or paryavaran ko bacha rhe hai (It’s a happy moment that is why I am riding a bicycle. To mark my father’s homecoming as well as to save the environment, I am riding a cycle,” said Lalu’s elder son, smiling as he rode a bicycle in Patna.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad was accorded a grand welcome by the party leaders and workers, who showered flower petals on him, on his arrival at Patna airport on Friday. He returned to Patna after a gap of seven months and drove straight to 10 Circular Road residence, without interacting with anyone at the airport.
Clad in a white T-shirt and black trousers, Prasad was taken in a wheelchair out of the arrival gate at the airport. He waved hands to the party workers, who were excited to see their leader in person, and showered the flower petals on him and the car he rode. Prasad was accompanied by the deputy CM and his younger son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and former MLA Bhola Prasad Yadav. Tej Pratap had also joined him at the airport.
Lalu left for Delhi on September 24 last year for treatment in Delhi and from there he went to Singapore on November 25 for a kidney transplant. The RJD chief returned to Delhi from Singapore after the transplant on February 18 and was recuperating under the supervision of expert doctors. A senior party leader and Maner MLA Bhai Birendra said Prasad is likely to stay in Patna for a longer period this time and he looked quite better.
